Tribute to a Brave Soldier: Havildar Bijay Debbarma
On May 22, 2020, Havildar Bijay Debbarma, a 34-year-old soldier from Bishramganj, Tripura, made the ultimate sacrifice while serving on the India-China border in Arunachal Pradesh. Tragically, he was fatally injured when a large chunk of ice fell on him, and he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
In recognition of his bravery and service, the LTP team, led by our Senior Advisor Shakti Jamatia, visited Havildar Bijay Debbarma’s family on July 10, 2020. During this visit, we presented the family with a cheque as a token of our deep respect and gratitude for their sacrifice. This gesture was a small way to honour the memory of a courageous soldier who gave his life in the line of duty.
Our brave martyred soldiers have made the ultimate sacrifice, laying down their lives to protect our nation and its values. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness serve as an everlasting testament to their patriotism. We owe them a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid, but we value and honour their memory by remembering their bravery and ensuring their legacy lives on in our hearts and actions. Their sacrifice will forever inspire us to strive for a peaceful and secure future for our country.
