UTF Facilitates Critical Medical Care for baby Neizuali Molsom

United Tiprasa Forum (UTF) is a non-governmental organization committed to providing medical assistance and support to those in need, has been actively involved in the care of baby Neizuali, who has been battling a complex medical condition.

Since the completion of all medical diagnoses on March 27, 2021, Neizuali has been under intensive care at the ICU, GB Hospital, Tripura. The diagnosis revealed a critical condition characterized by occipital encephalocele with complete AVSD (atrioventricular septal defect) and congestive cardiac failure, necessitating specialized treatment unavailable locally.

Recognizing the urgency of Neizuali’s situation, UTF mobilized its resources and expertise to facilitate her referral to a renowned hospital outside Tripura. Throughout this process, UTF has extended comprehensive support to Neizuali’s family, ensuring their comfort and well-being during this challenging time.

On April 23, 2021, Neizuali underwent a crucial brain USG test, with UTF members, including Dr. Kahamnuk, Mr. Dibakar, and Mr. Yudhishthir, providing invaluable assistance to the patient’s family. UTF’s dedicated efforts also encompassed the provision of home-cooked meals, health drinks, and specialized nursing care for Neizuali’s mother, alleviating some of the burdens faced by the family.

Despite relentless efforts by UTF, medical professionals, and hospital staff, the prognosis for Neizuali remained grave. On May 1, 2021, after extensive counseling, Neizuali’s parents made the difficult decision to discontinue medical treatment, opting for palliative care at home. Despite this heartbreaking development, UTF continued to fulfill its commitments, arranging transportation for the family and providing financial support.

In this challenging journey, UTF stands as a beacon of hope and compassion, striving to alleviate the suffering of individuals like Neizuali and their families. While the outcome may not always be what we hope for, UTF remains steadfast in its mission to provide support and comfort to those in need, embodying the spirit of empathy and solidarity in times of adversity.
