
UTF Celebrates 3rd Foundation Day with Kokborok Rhyme Competition, Showcasing Tiprasa Youths’ Cultural Pride
On September 27th, 2020, the United Tiprasa Forum (UTF) marked its 3rd Foundation Day with a vibrant and culturally significant event—a Kokborok rhyme competition. This celebration of linguistic and cultural pride captured the enthusiasm of the Tiprasa youth, bringing together over 200 participants from the community who showcased their creative talents in the native language of the Tiprasa people, Kokborok.
The competition was meticulously designed to honor and promote Kokborok, a language rich in history and tradition. It served as a powerful reminder of the cultural roots that define the Tiprasa community, and the event became a platform for the expression of poetic talent and a celebration of the heritage that Kokborok represents.
The competition was judged by the esteemed writer Mr. Bikashrai Debbarma, whose deep understanding of Kokborok literature and culture added significant value to the event. His role as a judge not only ensured the quality of the competition but also inspired the participants to give their best.
The highlight of the Foundation Day was the announcement of the winners, which brought excitement and a sense of achievement to the event. Mrs. Namita Debbarma secured the first prize for her outstanding contribution with her poem “KWTAL.” Her work stood out for its depth and artistic expression, earning her a cash award of Rs. 5000, along with a memento and a certificate, presented by Sir Ramesh Debbarma during the Award Giving Ceremony.

The second prize went to Mr. Bikash Debbarma for his poem “HALOK.” His work was recognized for its creativity and emotional resonance, earning him Rs. 4000 in prize money, along with a memento and a certificate, which were presented by Sir Shakti Jamatia.

The third prize was awarded to Miss Dalia Debbarma for her poem “SAJLA.” Her poetic expression captured the essence of Kokborok culture, and she was honored with a cash prize of Rs. 3000, a memento, and a certificate, presented by Sir Sajal Debbarma.

UTF’s initiative to organize this Kokborok rhyme competition on its Foundation Day reflects the organization’s deep commitment to nurturing the cultural roots and promoting the linguistic diversity of the region.
