Community Support for Sonamanik Jamatia: A Lifeline in Times of Sickness
A week ago, Sour active volunteer Ms Urmila Jamatia brought to our attention the plight of Brother Sonamanik Jamatia from Darjeeling Kami, Kami Kwtal, Killa, Udaipur, Gomati Tripura. Mr Sonamanik has been battling a prolonged illness for the past six months, leaving him bedridden and unable to provide for his family. As the sole breadwinner, his incapacity has placed a heavy burden on his household, with his wife dedicating her time to care for him, further straining their ability to sustain their daily lives.
Recognizing the urgency of their situation, today on March 13, 2021, the LPT team took decisive action. Our team visited Brother Sonamanik’s home to provide much-needed support. Senior member Mr. Shakti Jamatia, along with other members of the LPT team, personally delivered essential food materials to the family. This immediate relief was a crucial step in alleviating some of their immediate concerns.
During the visit, the team also engaged in thorough discussions to assess all requirements for Brother Sonamanik’s treatment. The aim was to understand the full scope of his medical needs and identify ways in which the community can support his journey towards recovery.
Our visit was not just about providing material aid but also about showing solidarity and compassion. The presence of Mr. Shakti Jamatia and other members of the LPT team served as a reminder that Brother Sonamanik and his family are not alone in this difficult time. The community stands with them, ready to offer support and encouragement.
We earnestly pray for Brother Sonamanik’s swift recovery and the well-being of his family. As a community, we remain committed to extending our support and ensuring that no family faces such hardships alone.
We encourage all who can contribute in any way they can, be it through donations, prayers, or spreading awareness about Brother Sonamanik’s situation. Together, we can make a significant difference and help this family navigate through these challenging times.
