From Illness to Wellness: Story of Impact
On June 25, 2018, the United Tiprasa Forum (UTF) received an urgent appeal from Mr. Sanjit Koloi of Debcharan Bairagi Para, Jampuijala, Sepahijala Tripura. For over two years, Mr. Koloi had been suffering from an unknown disease that left him bedridden and unable to provide for his family. His condition had deteriorated to the point where he was merely skin and bones.
Upon learning of his plight, the UTF team sprang into action to ensure he received the necessary medical attention. We facilitated his treatment under the care of Dr. Mrinal Debbarma at TMC Hapania Hospital in Agartala, Tripura. After thorough testing, Dr. Debbarma diagnosed Mr. Koloi with abdominal tuberculosis.
Mr. Koloi was hospitalized for three weeks, during which he received intensive treatment. Upon his discharge, UTF took full responsibility for his post-hospital care. We provided him with essential food supplies, including eggs and milk, to help him regain his strength. Our dedicated efforts paid off as, over the next few months, Mr. Koloi’s health significantly improved. Dr. Debbarma eventually declared him TB-free and completely healthy.
Mr. Koloi’s return to good health was a source of immense joy for his family and our team. Seeing him actively participating in daily activities at Jampuijala market was a testament to his recovery. Mr. Koloi expressed profound gratitude for the support that enabled his return to a healthy and normal life.
This heartwarming success story underscores the critical importance of timely access to healthcare and the profound impact of community support. Through proactive interventions and partnerships with healthcare professionals, UTF remains committed to enhancing the well-being of individuals in our community.
