Heart-breaking Plight of Four Children in Murabari Village: UTF Steps In

In a tragic turn of events, four siblings from Murabari village, Sidhai (Mohanpur), Hezamara, have been left orphaned, moving everyone who hears their story. Alija Debbarma (17), Asop Debbarma (15), Risati Debbarma (9), and Ringsati Debbarma (2) lost their mother, Swarna Debbarma, on October 8, 2024. Their father, Biren Debbarma, had passed away earlier in August 2023, leaving the children devastated and in a state of crisis.

Upon learning of this heart-breaking situation, UTF immediately decided to step in to support the children. Staying true to its commitment, the UTF team visited the family on October 16th, bringing essential items to help the children through this difficult time.

When the team arrived, they were met with a deeply emotional scene. The eldest daughter, Alija, was holding her 2-year-old sister, Ringsati, while Asop struggled with a cough and fever. The children, still reeling from the loss of both parents in such a short span of time, were visibly struggling to cope. Risati, the 9-year-old, was too traumatized to express herself.

During the visit, the children’s legal guardians also arrived, and a discussion took place regarding their future welfare. UTF’s intervention has brought hope to the children, ensuring they will receive the necessary support during this difficult period.
