Heroic Act of Blood Donation Saves Life in Tragic Accident
On February 24, 2024, a tragic accident occurred in Khowai, involving an auto-rickshaw and a rubber-stocked vehicle. This devastating collision resulted in the immediate death of one individual and left nine others with severe injuries. The critically injured were quickly transferred from Khowai Hospital to GB Hospital. Among them was Mr. Samir Debbarma, the auto-rickshaw driver, who sustained life-threatening injuries and required an urgent transfusion of A+ blood.
In a remarkable act of compassion and leadership, UTF’s president, Mr. Sajal Debbarma, stepped forward to donate his blood for the eighth time. His timely and selfless donation was crucial in saving Mr. Samir Debbarma’s life. This incident highlights the critical importance of blood donation.
