Late Ham Mala Debbarma: A Mother Defeated by Poverty and Distress
On Sunday, 7th July 2019, the United Tiprasa Forum (UTF) paid a heartfelt visit to Manok Kami under Ashrambari, Tulashikhor Block, Khowai District, the place where late Ham Mala Debbarma succumbed to the relentless grip of poverty. UTF’s Secretary, Mr. Sajal Debbarma, led the team to provide support and solace to the bereaved family.
UTF’s Commitment to the Bereaved Family
Recognizing the immense struggle faced by Ham Mala Debbarma’s family, UTF extended financial assistance to alleviate their immediate burdens. The team’s visit was not just a gesture of condolence but a pledge to stand by the family in their time of need.
Medical Camp and Health Initiatives
In addition to financial support, UTF organized a free medical health camp, spearheaded by Dr. Aichuk DebBarma, an active member of UTF. The camp included free malaria tests and the distribution of free medicines. For medications that were not available on-site, UTF provided the necessary expenses to ensure that the community’s health needs were fully met.
Educational and Nutritional Support for Children
Understanding the importance of education and nutrition for the community’s children, UTF distributed educational kits and fruits. This initiative aimed to foster a sense of hope and provide the children with the tools they need for a brighter future.
Gratitude to Mr. Suhel Debbarma
This outreach was made possible by the kind-hearted Mr. Suhel Jemson Debbarma, who brought the family’s plight and the village’s poverty-stricken conditions to the attention of UTF. His compassionate act ensured that help reached those who needed it the most.
A Continuing Mission
UTF’s visit to Manok Kami is a testament to the organization’s unwavering commitment to supporting and uplifting marginalized communities. By addressing both immediate needs and long-term welfare, UTF continues to make a tangible difference in the lives of those battling poverty and distress.
