In the wake of the devastating rain and hailstorm that struck Dumacharra Village in Longtharai Valley, Tripura, on Sunday, May 5th, 2024, leaving many families shelterless and in dire need, Lamphunuknai Trust (LPT) sprang into action. The calamitous event resulted in the destruction of numerous homes, affecting nearly 800 individuals.
Upon learning of the plight of the affected villagers and the inadequate provisions at the relief camps in Hakwtwisa, LTV Dhalai, Tripura, the dedicated team at LPT resolved to offer assistance. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, LPT committed not only to rely on government aid but also to provide direct support to the affected populace.
On Tuesday, May 7th, 2024, Mr. Ratanlala Tripura and Mrs. Dhanlaxmi Tripura, along with the LPT team, journeyed to Hakwtwisa to fulfill their pledge of aid. Visiting various relief camps, including Forest Colony AWC, Forest Colony J.B. School, Ratan Roaja Para J.B. School, Demcherra S.B. School, Wakhirai Pata J.B. School, and Jatindra SB School, the LPT team distributed essential supplies to those in need.
Graciously, LPT provided rice, eggs, mineral water, and cakes for the children, ensuring that approximately 800 individuals received sustenance during their time of adversity. The selfless actions of the LPT team, especially Mr. Ratanlala Tripura and Mrs. Dhanalaxmi Tripura, who personally attended to the distribution efforts under the scorching sun, epitomize the spirit of compassion and solidarity in times of crisis.
