UTF Brings Smiles to Shonkhola: Distribution of Blankets and Educational Kits on the Eve of TRING New Year
On December 20, 2018, the United Tiprasa Forum (UTF) had the privilege of bringing warmth and joy to the community of Shonkhola, Simna, West Tripura. In a heartfelt distribution ceremony held at Akhaliacharra School Ground, UTF provided 25 blankets, 100 educational kits, and packets of sweets to impoverished families and students in the area. The program was honored by the presence of Mr. N.C. Debbarma, Cabinet Minister, Government of Tripura, along with UTF’s President Mr. Budhilian Hrangkhawl and Secretary Mr. Sajal Debbarma, among other dignitaries.
A Collaborative Celebration: UTF’s Partnership with the Movement for Kokborok (MFK)
This distribution event took place on the stage of the 1429 TRING New Year celebration, organized by the Movement for Kokborok (MFK). UTF was deeply grateful to MFK for providing a platform to deliver these much-needed items to the community, especially in the spirit of the TRING New Year. The event featured a festive atmosphere, heightened by the Tiprasa Food Festival held in anticipation of the New Year celebrations, which would reach their peak at midnight on December 21.
Making a Difference: Distribution of Essential Items
Understanding the needs of the community, UTF provided:
- 25 Blankets: Distributed to families in need, ensuring they can face the winter season with warmth and comfort.
- 100 Educational Kits: Essential supplies for young students, each kit contained tools to help support their education and encourage their academic journey.
- Sweets Packets: Distributed as a treat, bringing smiles to the families and making the event even more festive.
UTF’s contribution served as a gift for the TRING New Year, symbolizing a fresh start and a sense of support for the community as they entered the new year.
