UTF Initiates Major Fundraising Effort to Support Cyclone Victims in Mandwi and Hezamara RD Block
On April 2, 2019, a devastating cyclone struck the Mandwi and Hezamara RD Block area in West Tripura District, leaving many families without homes and in urgent need of aid. In response, the United Tiprasa Forum (UTF) has launched a significant fundraising campaign, both online and offline, to provide crucial support to the affected families and help them rebuild their lives.
Rising Against All Odds
During these challenging times, Team UTF is determined to act. Our mission is to offer immediate relief and long-term support to those who have lost their homes and livelihoods due to the cyclone. We are committed to providing essential supplies such as food, drinking water, medical aid, warm clothes, and more to the affected families.
Immediate Relief Efforts
Day after the cyclone, on April 3, Team UTF visited several relief camps and distributed essential goods at the relief camps under Mandwi RD Block. Our efforts reached approximately 1,000 cyclone-affected family members. We provided rice, dal, eggs, cake, biscuits, medicines, and conducted health check-ups to ensure the well-being of the affected individuals. The camps we visited include:
1. Amingkrak JB School and Chandrakanta AWC Jointly 2. Rambabu JB School 3. Rabia Chowdhury Para AWC 4. Chattradhan JB School 5. Chintaram JB School at Nalbagla 6. Twisarangchak JB School at Harbang 7. Khengrai JB School 8. NEC Colony JB School 9. Puranbairagi JB School 10. Gajapara SB School Camp
On April 4, 2019, we extended our efforts to two more relief camps under Hezamara RD Block: 1. Puranbairagi jb school camp 2. Gajapara SB school camp.
Here, we provided rice, dal, eggs, cake, biscuits, medicines, and conducted health check-ups to ensure the well-being of approximately 300 cyclone-affected family members.
