UTF Organizes Successful Medical and Relief Camp at Ratannagar, Ganda Twisa, Dhalai, Tripura

On October 2, 2018, a Tuesday marked by unity and compassion, the United Tiprasa Forum (UTF) organized a comprehensive Medical cum Relief Camp at Ratannagar, Ganda Twisa, in the Dhalai district of Tripura. This initiative was driven by the pressing need to address the health challenges faced by the local community, particularly in light of recent malaria outbreaks. With the participation of over 500 people, the camp proved to be a beacon of hope and support for the residents of Ratannagar.

Health Checkup and Malaria Testing

A cornerstone of the camp’s activities was the health checkup session, which saw the participation of 350 individuals. These checkups were crucial in identifying and addressing various health concerns, ensuring that residents had access to necessary medical care.

In response to the recent malaria cases, the camp also conducted 220 malaria tests. This proactive measure aimed to identify and treat those affected, helping to prevent further spread of the disease. The detection of malaria early is essential in regions prone to such outbreaks, and the UTF’s efforts in this regard were both timely and impactful.

Distribution of Essential Items

Recognizing the need for preventive measures, the United Tiprasa Forum distributed a range of essential items to the attendees:

  • Mosquito Nets: 200 mosquito nets were distributed to families to protect them from mosquito bites, a primary cause of malaria transmission.
  • Odomos Cream: 300 tubes of Odomos cream were handed out, offering additional protection against mosquito bites.
  • Dettol Soap: 300 bars of Dettol soap were provided to promote hygiene and prevent the spread of infections.
  • Apples: 150 kilograms of apples were distributed, ensuring that the community had access to nutritious food.
  • Chocolates for Children: To bring a smile to the faces of the young ones, chocolates were distributed among the children.
  • Khichuri and Boiled Eggs: A nutritious meal of Khichuri and boiled eggs was served to all the children attending the camp, reinforcing the importance of a balanced diet for their growth and development.

Financial Assistance

The camp also extended financial assistance to those in dire need:

  1. Support for Bereaved Families: UTF provided financial help to four families who had recently lost their loved ones to malaria. This gesture was aimed at offering some relief during their time of grief and ensuring they could manage their immediate needs.
  2. Assistance for Malaria Patients: Those who tested positive for Malaria PF during the camp were also given financial assistance to cover their treatment costs. This support was crucial in enabling them to access the necessary medical care without delay.

A Day of Success and Gratitude

The camp was a resounding success, providing much-needed medical care, essential items, and financial assistance to the people of Ratannagar. The impact of these efforts was evident in the gratitude expressed by the beneficiaries and the improved health outcomes observed in the community.

The United Tiprasa Forum extends its heartfelt thanks to all its members for their tireless efforts in organizing this event. Special thanks are also due to the supporters who contributed financially and morally, making this camp possible. The UTF also acknowledges the invaluable support of the Ganda Twisa administration, including the SDM, SDMO, ICDS, and police, whose wholehearted cooperation was instrumental in the camp’s success.

As we reflect on the day’s achievements, we pray that the people of Ratannagar may continue to enjoy good health and prosperity. The UTF remains committed to serving the community and addressing the needs of the most vulnerable, driven by the belief that together, we can build a healthier and more resilient future for all.
