UTF Provides Aid to Young Accident Victim Kumar Sanu Reang and His Family

On April 27, 2019, young Kumar Sanu Reang, the second son of Mr. Babula Reang and Mrs. Milanti Reang from Shanti Para Reang Camp, Gashiram, Kanchanpur, suffered a severe accident that left him critically injured. While climbing a mango tree, Kumar fell, and a sharp branch pierced through his lower abdomen, causing significant trauma to his internal organs. Following the accident, he was rushed to Kanchanpur Hospital, where he underwent initial treatment. Recognizing the severity of his injuries, the medical team at Kanchanpur referred him to AGMC Hospital for advanced surgical care.

The doctors at AGMC Hospital put forth an incredible effort, working tirelessly to save Kumar’s life. Thanks to their dedication, the young patient’s condition was stabilized, but the impact of his injuries remained severe, with several of his organs damaged. Despite Kumar’s stable condition, his journey to recovery required extensive medical attention, a daunting challenge for his underprivileged family.

Kumar Sanu’s family, led by his father, Mr. Babula Reang, relies on daily labor for sustenance. As daily wage earners, they struggle to afford even the most basic needs, let alone the medical expenses required for Kumar’s long-term care and recovery. The financial burden of his treatment had left them with little hope of sustaining his recovery without assistance.

Understanding the gravity of the situation, a group of compassionate Tiprasa doctors reached out to the United Tiprasa Forum (UTF) for support. Recognizing their mission to aid communities in need, the UTF team responded promptly and with empathy. They visited AGMC Hospital to meet Kumar’s family and assess how they could help alleviate their financial burdens during this challenging time.

During the hospital visit on April 27, UTF members spoke with Mr. Babula Reang, who shared the hardships his family faced. He explained how the family was barely managing to meet their daily needs, let alone the high medical expenses associated with Kumar’s treatment. Understanding the family’s financial constraints, the UTF team extended immediate financial support to Mr. Reang, aiming to cover the additional treatment costs and ease the family’s worries.

This heartfelt outreach by UTF and the Tiprasa doctors has offered Kumar’s family renewed hope for his recovery and reflects the profound commitment of UTF to support marginalized families during their most difficult times.
