UTF Provides Urgent Educational Support to Mujesh Tripura Amid Record-Breaking Rain-Induced Landslide
On September 2, 2024, the United Tiprasa Forum (UTF) extended its support to Mujesh Tripura, a Class X student at Dhamma Dipa School in Manubankul, South Tripura. This urgent intervention was necessitated by a tragic landslide that had completely destroyed Mujesh’s home, sweeping away essential items, including his school uniforms, textbooks, notebooks, and shoes. As Tripura experiences an unprecedented record-breaking rainfall, marking a 37-year high, landslides and flooding have devastated communities across the state, affecting countless families and creating severe disruptions, especially for young students like Mujesh who are on the cusp of critical academic milestones.
Mujesh, a dedicated matriculation candidate preparing for his board examinations, faced the daunting prospect of missing valuable school days due to a lack of educational resources. With his home buried under the landslide, his family grappled with financial hardship, unable to replace the essential school items in time. As the rains continued to wreak havoc, Mujesh’s family had few options but to focus on immediate survival, pushing his education further out of reach.
This unfortunate situation came to the attention of Mr. Jhugnu Jamatia, a compassionate teacher from Mujesh’s school, who recognized the serious impact this could have on the student’s future. Understanding the family’s financial limitations and the pressing urgency of the situation, Mr. Jamatia reached out to the UTF team, recounting Mujesh’s circumstances and emphasizing the critical need for immediate assistance.
UTF quickly mobilized to verify the situation, engaging with local sources and assessing the details provided by Mr. Jamatia. Within hours, the UTF team confirmed the information, realizing the immediate need for intervention to prevent Mujesh’s academic trajectory from being derailed. UTF then assigned Mr. Jamatia the task of procuring all necessary educational supplies. Within an impressive 12-hour timeframe, he managed to secure and assemble a full set of school uniforms, textbooks, notebooks, and a pair of shoes—everything Mujesh needed to return to school without further delay.
Today, these materials were handed over to Mujesh by Mr. Jamatia on behalf of the United Tiprasa Forum. Mujesh expressed deep gratitude, knowing that he could now resume his studies and prepare effectively for his board exams. UTF’s timely intervention not only safeguarded his education but also reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to the welfare and progress of Tiprasa youth.
UTF’s support for Mujesh reflects its ongoing mission to provide community-driven solutions in times of crisis. By responding promptly to educational needs in the face of natural calamities, UTF remains dedicated to ensuring that young students are not left behind due to unforeseen challenges. The organization extends its heartfelt thanks to Mr. Jhugnu Jamatia for his unwavering dedication and swift action, which were instrumental in bringing timely relief to Mujesh and his family.
As the rains continue in Tripura, UTF urges communities to stay safe and work together. The organization remains vigilant and ready to assist vulnerable families, ensuring that education continues uninterrupted, no matter the circumstances.
