UTF Inaugurates Market Sheds and Hosts Community Outreach at Annaram Kami, Shikaribari, Ambassa
Date: 22nd June 2019
Venue: Annaram Kami, Shikaribari, Ambassa, Dhalai, Tripura
The United Tiprasa Forum (UTF) proudly unveiled its latest initiative, the official inauguration and handover of newly built market sheds in Annaram Kami, Shikaribari, Ambassa. This community-focused event brought together residents and UTF members for a day dedicated to health, welfare, and support for local livelihoods, underscoring UTF’s commitment to serving the people of Tripura.
Event Highlights: A Day of Health, Education, and Support
The event began with a free medical health camp, a significant service aimed at addressing health concerns among local residents. Under the leadership of Dr. Aichuk Debbarma and Dr. Pitor Debbarma, along with a skilled medical team provided by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Dhalai, the camp offered health consultations and distributed free medicines. Approximately 60 residents underwent malaria testing, and two children who tested positive were advised to visit the hospital for further treatment. This health camp emphasized UTF’s dedication to community health, particularly for those in underserved areas.
Community Support: Educational Kits, Fruits, and Clothing
Following the health camp, UTF volunteers distributed educational kits to local children, ensuring they had essential materials for their studies. Families also received seasonal fruit and summer clothing, as part of UTF’s effort to support basic needs and bring comfort during the hot season. A widow’s family in Annaram Kami received a special provision of GC sheets (dhew tin) to improve their home’s resilience, reflecting UTF’s sensitivity to the needs of the most vulnerable members of the community.
Official Handover of Market Sheds
The event concluded with the official handover of roadside market sheds to local vegetable vendors. These market sheds provide local vendors with a designated, secure place to sell fresh organic produce, supporting their livelihoods and encouraging the community to buy local. UTF believes that these market sheds will not only benefit the vendors but also foster a sustainable and vibrant local economy.
Gratitude to Supporters and Partners
The success of this event was made possible by the generous support of several individuals and organizations. UTF extends heartfelt gratitude to the CMO of Dhalai for providing necessary medical supplies and assigning a dedicated medical team. Special thanks go to Brother Manoj Kr Debbarma and Brother Dibakar Jamatia, whose tireless efforts and selfless service were instrumental in making this event a reality.
A Call to Support Local Vendors
UTF encourages all community members to support these vendors by purchasing their fresh, organic produce whenever possible. By choosing local, we not only strengthen the local economy but also foster a sense of unity and resilience within the community.
Thanks to Our Supporters
UTF sincerely thanks all members, volunteers, and well-wishers who contributed to making this event a success. Your unwavering support and encouragement fuel UTF’s mission, bolstering our dedication to social responsibility and community upliftment.
